Later, it was speculated that Nani would step in, but the buzz soon died down. And reports emerge that Devi Sri Prasad would debut as the lead actor. On the flip side, the leading lady in the film has also been a constant source of speculation. Rumour mongers had it saying that Keerthy Suresh is paired opposite Devi Sri Prasad. She was reportedly the first choice for the lead actress role. But while promoting her upcoming film, Revolver Rani, Keerthy clarified that she is not part of the village drama. The development has turned the spotlight back on the film’s leading lady. The makers are considering names like Sai Pallavi but a lot depends on her availability.
